The Museum is closing for renovation and expansion on August 4, 2014.
We will be accepting reservations for events that will occur on or before August 2, 2014.
Located in the heart of downtown Boise in Julia Davis Park, the Idaho State Historical Museum is available to rent as a unique venue for your next gathering. Your guests will enjoy strolling through our galleries to engage with the story of Idaho and the West and interacting with our stunning exhibitions.
The museum can accommodate a reception of 600 standing or a banquet for 210 seated. Several options are available for rental including:
The Special Exhibits Gallery
The museum's largest room is 3,000 square feet and measures 60 feet by 50 feet. It is suitable for meetings, luncheons, and seated dinners, with access to the entire upper level and a small adjacent kitchen. It will host comfortably a group of up to 210 people for a lecture, reception, or seated dinner.
The Prospector Room
Measuring 960 square feet, this room can seat 60 people comfortably. Located in the museum's lower level, it is great for meetings and workshops. A separate hourly rate of $75 applies to this room.
M.C. Smith Saloon
Located upstairs, this striking venue will give your event a rustic, Old West flavor. The stunning front and back bar with a large saloon mirror is perfect for serving drinks and appetizers.
Conveniently located off the Special Exhibits Gallery, the kitchen provides a staging area for food preparation.
